Drive by IC Thrive, is our internal communications services offering. It was developed by data-driven internal communicators with decades of experience proving their value and getting results.
For the rest of 2019, we are offering 30 minute complimentary coaching call to everyone (the call is always complimentary for current customers). Book your complimentary call now.
Imagine this: you’ve been tasked with internal communications in your company. You’ve got a strong mandate, as well as the support, tools and resources you need to get your messaging out to your whole audience (or a clearly defined subset of it) with compelling, action-driving content, via the best channel, at the right time without worrying about it getting lost in the flood. You’re able to measure the end results of your work, and to use that data to confidently report on your value to your leadership, and from there to inform future strategy.
Sounds nice, no? If you’re anything like most communicators (including us, at many points), it also doesn’t sound particularly familiar. We recently surveyed 50 internal communicators, and there were some common themes in what we heard:
- “Our organization is oversaturated with ad-hoc communication.”
- “[We are] having to cut through the noise so employees don’t ignore our messaging”
- “Lack of resources” “Lack of budget” “Lack of time” “Lack of communicators”
That frustration is intense, and we all already know that that status quo is a wasted opportunity. Strategic internal communications can tie your activities to your organization’s top-level objectives in a way that propels the company forward and earns you a seat at the decision-making table. Getting to that point is the goal of Drive services, and we get there through a three-stage process:
1. Assess
First, we work with you and with members in different levels of your organization to get a clear view of your current internal communications landscape. By making sure we get the perspective of communicators and leadership, as well as those on the receiving end of communications, we’re able to benchmark where you’re starting from.
2. Report
You’ll receive a report with our findings, breaking down best practices in line with our 7 Principles, and recommendations for priority areas of focus, quick wins and short/mid/long term considerations.
3. Support
Level 2 Drive Services support you with proprietary tools and templates, ongoing coaching, solutions to roadblocks that arise, and advice to make sure that you’re moving the needle and getting results.
Drive has two service levels. Level 1 focuses on the first two stages, along with tools and recommendations for support moving forward. With Level 2, in addition to adding employee validation to the first two stages, the Support stage is more substantial. In both models, we will reassess at the one year mark and see how we’ve managed to address your major pain points and move the needle in your organization.
While Drive services can help communicators in a lot of different circumstances, we’ve found that there are some sweet spots:
- Organizations with 300-3000 employees
- Entry to mid-level internal communicators working solo or in a small team
- Marketers or HR doing internal comms as a side job in addition to their core duties
Basically, to run with the metaphor: Drive by IC Thrive service puts you in the driver’s seat of your organization’s internal communications, hands you a roadmap and installs our Drive team as backseat drivers (but the helpful kind) to call out directions and make sure you’re making the right turns to get on the smoothest road.
